
Blankets are made preferably with recycled fibers of polyester. Packaging is reduced to the minimum to ensure proper conditions of delivery. The blankets have been designed to ensure the minimal environmental impact while providing the required body protection from the cold and a long service life.
The insulation capacity of a blanket : Thermal resistance (Rct) and air permeability are influenced by many factors including the weight, the fiber quality, the type of weaving or knitting, and fiber raising.
Controlled air permeability ensures protection from draughts, while inherent breathability allows evacuation of body perspiration. The Rct value and air permeability can only be tested in a textile laboratory.
Scientific studies, confirmed by field experience, defined that:
- Low thermal blanket (Rct=0.15) is appropriate only for indoor use, on a bed, in a house with heating facilities
- Medium thermal blanket (Rct=0.25) is the minimum for hot or temperate climates outdoor use, or inside basic shelters
- High thermal blanket (Rct=0.4) is the minimum for cold climates.
