DESCRIPTION:Innovation and sustainability are key to enhance humanitarian response. \n\n\n\nParticipants will have the opportunity to understand the power of digitalization and artificial intelligence\, as an advance technology for the humanitarian community. \n\n\n\nBased on a scenario of an emergency\, government entities\, NDMAs included\, humanitarian community and the private sector will discuss the impact of the use of the Humanitarian Logistics Databank (IHC Dubai)\, STOCKHOLM (ESUPS)\, ASYREC (UNCTAD) and the Log:ie platform (Logistics Cluster). DESCRIPTION:The Humanitarian Networks and Partnerships Week (HNPW)\, co-chaired by OCHA and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC)\, provides a unique forum for humanitarian networks and partnerships to meet and address key humanitarian issues. One of the largest humanitarian events of its kind\, it gathers participants from the UN\, NGOs\, Member States\, the private sector\, the military\, academia and beyond to discuss and solve common challenges in humanitarian affairs. During the week\, a number of networks and partnerships hold their annual meetings and consultations\, share their expertise and collaborate on best practices to address shared problems.  \n\n\n\nESUPS will be present with two sessions. SUMMARY:Optimum pre-positioning analysis tool: Nepal case study
DESCRIPTION:The ESUPS project recently released a report containing recommendations for establishing a national coordinated pre-positioning strategy for Nepal (you can consult the report here). \n\n\n\nIn this session\, ESUPS will explain how the report was put together\, from the interaction with humanitarian actors in Nepal to the final structure and outcomes of the report. \n\n\n\nThe session will also provide a demonstration of the analysis tool used by ESUPS\, elaborated by Penn State University. This tool will allow national actors to see which warehouses in the country are overstocked or understocked\, where are the gaps and what would be the cost implications to implement the recommendations provided by ESUPS. \n\n\n\nThis session will also be available in French and in Spanish.
